On July 26th, at 12:27 p.m., Sofia "Sofie" Paige Preece entered the world and our hearts. After three weeks of hospital bed rest, Mom was definitely ready to have Sofie on this side of the uterus. She's a love, and big sisters Sammie and Cate and big brother, Carter, are totally smitten. We are adjusting to babydom...I am exhausted, forgetful, and smell like spit-up. But it's worth it.

I was on the plane with Sofie a couple of weekends ago, and had one of those moments where you truly know that this little being is from heaven...straight from God. As I looked into her absolute innocence and hope, a man sat next to me reading a book called "The God Delusion". In it's explanation on Amazon, the author "eviscerates the major arguments for religion and demonstrates the supreme improbability of a supreme being." Sad. I cannot fathom looking into an infant and not believe in a Supreme being...a Heavenly Father...an ultimate plan for this life. Thank you, Sofie...for reminding me what life is about...where you came from and where we are all hoping to return.
