Living Deliberately

Mom, Cate and I standing in the remains of Thoreau's cabin at Walden Pond.

"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived." -Henry Thoreau

Reacquainting myself with this quote brought about some pondering on what my purpose and passion is in life: my children, my husband, my family, my writings, my work, my friends, my God. If these are what I am truly passionate about, is my life expressing that? I've realized that I need to find balance, for some of these purposes demand a little more than others. Maybe I need to run off into the woods?

Balance? I think that'll be nice one day. Being released from Primary president is the first step, and will be happening in 2 weeks... whew.
