The Swapp and Preece family gather at the Sacred Grove....a significant site for Mormons. This is the place in Palmyra, New York, where the prophet Joseph Smith had his first vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, ushering in the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ . It's a beautiful forest just steps from where Joseph lived back in 1820 as a 14-year old boy. This stop began our pilgrimage to the LDS church history sites with some of our dearest friends. Jenn and I met our freshman year of college at BYU and have been friends ever since...husbands, kids, and crazy lives later! (In the pic: Jenn, Madeline, Ryan, Ella, Mike, Carter and Me)
